Loved Liz too: that's a who's one and two, they were both so good. I never saw any earlier companions than Liz, but Liz did set the high standard that very few could follow. To me, her and Mary Tamm stand apart from all the others who have come since.
I should've proof read my comment - how i did that to Liz's name is beyond me.
Liz Shaw - only ever saw her via repeats and in all honesty, she wasn't one of my favourite companions. I found the character hard to take. i thought she was hard compared to others but that was te idea was it not. Grew on me a tad though
Sorry, I was watching Inferno prior to posting my reply and misead your comment as being about her. I had started off my previous reply about Lis Sladen and just slipped in to Liz Shaw. As the Americans say My bad :)

Maybe I show clarify: I was talking about Liz Sladen too, not Liz Shaw.
