If you've been on Facebook at all today, you've almost certainly come
across at least a handful of profile photos that have been changed to
red blocks with a pink equal sign in the centre.
They're meant to
express support for same-sex marriage as the Supreme Court in the USA hears two
cases this week that could decide the fate of marriage equality for a
generation. Most of these red blocks look like the one above, but the
internet could not allow an image this simple to go viral without at
least a little creative embellishment:
