Doctor Who Daleks up for auction

Fans of Doctor Who will get the chance to own an original Dalek from the classic series when a range of costumes and props go up for auction later this month.

The vast archive of memorabilia will go under the hammer at Bonhams in Knightsbridge.

As well as two Daleks, other items up for sale include several Cybermen, a sea devil and the costume for the Magma Creature, which featured in Peter Davidson's last show in 1984.


The Daleks are expected to fetch up to £3,000 each when the sale gets under way on February 24.

A range of clothing worn by the Doctor and his assistants down the years, will also go under the hammer.

A dinner suit worn by David Tennant during his stint as the Time Lord is expected to fetch around £3,000.

A selection of vehicles from the show. including Captain Jack's Torchwood Range Rover and a black cab from the Runaway Bride episode screened in 2006, will also form part of the sale.

Stephanie Connell, entertainment specialist at Bonhams said: "Doctor Who is without doubt one of the most important and best loved television programmes, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to offer some of the iconic costumes and props from the show."
